1) Introduction
These Terms govern your access to and use of our website, products and services. By ordering or using the site, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refunds Policy. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
2) Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 18 to purchase. Keep your account credentials secure and keep your details accurate and up-to-date.
3) Products & Safety
We sell STEM/robotics kits. Follow all instructions and safety documentation. Kits can contain small parts and electronics—adult supervision is required; not suitable for children under 3 (choking hazard). Battery & electrical safety: only use approved batteries/chargers, don’t short-circuit or expose to heat/water, dispose responsibly, and handle connections with care.
4) Information on the Site
We aim for accuracy; minor variations (packaging/colour/manufacturer updates) may occur. Images are illustrative. If a description is materially incorrect, you may be entitled to a remedy under the ACL.
5) Orders & Contract Formation
Your order is an offer. We may accept/reject at our discretion. A contract forms when we email an order confirmation or dispatch notice. If we can’t fulfil an order, we’ll cancel affected items and refund you.
6) Pricing, Currency & Taxes
Prices are in AUD and include GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping/fees are shown at checkout. Prices may change prior to purchase. If a pricing error occurs, we may cancel and refund the affected order.
7) Payment
We accept the methods shown at checkout via secure third-party processors. By paying, you authorise the provider to charge your selected method and confirm you’re authorised to use it.
8) Shipping & Delivery
We deliver to the destinations listed on our site. Timeframes are indicative. Risk/title pass on delivery to the address provided—please ensure it’s accurate. For delays, damage or loss in transit, see our Refunds Policy. Remote AU deliveries may take longer or cost extra; some items can’t ship internationally; international buyers are responsible for duties/taxes/import fees.
9) Refunds
Our Refunds Policy forms part of these Terms: no change-of-mind refunds; refunds/replacements where items are damaged, lost in transit, or fail ACL consumer guarantees; notify transit damage promptly (ideally within 14 days) with evidence; we cover reasonable return postage for valid ACL claims.
10) Warranty Period & Claims
Manufacturer’s warranty: 12 months for defects in materials/workmanship. Covered: defective electronics/assembly faults. Not covered: misuse, neglect, accidents, normal wear/tear.
Claims: email support@theafterclassacademy.com with proof of purchase, description and evidence. We’ll assess and provide instructions. Once confirmed, we’ll repair/replace or refund as appropriate. This sits alongside your ACL rights.
11) Product Registration
Optional; may help with recall notices, firmware updates and safety notices. Not required to exercise warranty or ACL rights.
12) Software & Digital Content
Software/firmware is licensed to you on a limited, personal, non-exclusive basis for educational use. Don’t copy, reverse-engineer or distribute. Check device compatibility. Updates/support may be provided at our discretion. Digital content is provided “as is”, subject to ACL rights if faulty or not as described.
13) Age Appropriateness & Educational Value
Recommended ages appear on product pages (e.g., “Ages 8+”). Learning outcomes vary with guidance and effort. Some kits may require additional tools/devices not included.
14) Promotional Codes
Codes specify validity, eligible products and conditions; no cash value; not combinable unless explicitly stated.
15) Use Restrictions
Do not misuse the Services (e.g., break laws, interfere with security, copy/modify/reverse-engineer our content/products, or use products unsafely).
16) Intellectual Property
All site content is owned by or licensed to us. Personal, non-commercial use only unless you have written permission.
17) Reviews & User Content
By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use/reproduce/display it. You warrant it doesn’t infringe rights or contain unlawful material.
18) Privacy
Your information is handled under our Privacy Policy. We keep data only as long as needed. Parents/guardians must consent for minors where applicable. You can request access, correction or deletion via support@theafterclassacademy.com.
19) Product Recalls
We comply with ACCC recall procedures. If a product is recalled, we will contact you using the details provided and explain how to return or obtain a refund/replacement.
20) Complaints Handling
Email support@theafterclassacademy.com with your order number and details. We’ll acknowledge within 5 business days and aim to resolve within 10 business days. If unresolved, you may escalate to management or contact your local Fair Trading Office or the ACCC.
21) Accessibility
We’re committed to accessible services; contact us for assistance or alternative formats.
22) Warranty Disclaimer & ACL
Except for your statutory ACL rights and any express warranties, our products and Services are provided “as is”. Nothing in these Terms excludes/limits your consumer guarantees under Australian law.
23) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect/consequential loss, loss of profit or business interruption. Our total liability is limited to the price paid for the product (except where the ACL prohibits such limits).
24) Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us for losses arising from your breach or misuse, except where caused by our negligence or breach of law.
25) Force Majeure
We’re not responsible for delays/failures due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, supplier issues, internet outages, government actions).
26) Severability
If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
27) Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refunds Policy, are the entire agreement regarding your use of the Services.
28) Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts and the state/territory where our business is registered.
29) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect upon posting; material updates may be notified on the site or by email.
