1) Overview
This Refunds & Returns Policy explains when you can obtain a repair, replacement or refund for purchases made from The After Class Academy. It applies in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee (including where the failure is major). These rights exist independently of any policy we provide.
2) Change-of-Mind Returns
We do not accept returns or provide refunds for change of mind (for example, if you decide you no longer want the item, selected the wrong style/colour by preference, or found it cheaper elsewhere). This does not affect your ACL rights if the product is faulty, not as described, or otherwise fails a consumer guarantee.
3) Items Damaged in Transit
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible at support@theafterclassacademy.com with:
- your order number
- clear photos of the packaging and the product
- a brief description of the damage
We’ll arrange a replacement or a refund after assessment. Please notify us promptly (ideally within 7 days of delivery) so we can investigate with the carrier. Notifying us within this timeframe helps us resolve the issue quickly and does not limit any rights you may have under the ACL.
4) Parcels Lost in Transit
If your parcel is confirmed lost by the carrier (for example, no delivery scan and a reasonable delivery time has passed), we will provide a replacement or refund. We may ask you to verify the delivery address and cooperate with the carrier’s investigation.
5) Faulty, Defective or Not-as-Described Products
Where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee (e.g. not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or not as described), you are entitled to a remedy under the ACL:
- Major failure: you can choose a refund or replacement.
- Minor failure: we may repair within a reasonable time, or provide a replacement or refund.
We will cover reasonable return postage or provide a prepaid label for confirmed ACL claims. Proof of purchase is required (order confirmation or receipt). Original packaging is helpful but not required to exercise your rights in relation to faulty goods.
6) Return Process (where applicable)
- Email support@theafterclassacademy.com with your order number and issue details (and photos for damage claims).
- We’ll confirm eligibility and provide return or replacement instructions.
- If a return is needed, use the prepaid label (for approved ACL claims) or the method agreed with us.
- Once received/assessed, we’ll issue your refund to the original payment method or send a replacement.
- Refund processing times depend on your payment provider after we approve the refund.
7) Exclusions & Notes
- Unauthorised returns (items sent back without our approval) may be declined.
- Non-returnable items unless required by law: perishable goods, personalised items, and digital downloads once delivered/accessed.
This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and is governed by Australian law. Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you have under the ACL.
